300D - 1958

Next car in the Letter Series was the Chrysler 300D. It was nearly the same as the 300C. It remained 2 door coupe. Production of this car began in 1958. 1958 was ment to be the last year for the olf FirePower HEMI engines. It was replaced with 6.4L new engine, which produced 380 Hp. 300D had top speed of 156 Mph (251 Kmh). Also 35 300D's were produced with electronic fuel injection, producing 390 Hp. Soon this engine was replaced with the standart carburetor (twin-quad) because electronic injection was troublesome. Only 618 coupes and 191 convertibles were produces and sold.
