300E - 1959

Next and number six in Letter series 300 was the 300E. It had the same look as 300D and 300C. Only engine was replaced. New engine had new name - Golden Lion and new displacement, wedge-head V8 413 cu (392 older) 6.8L, but besides bigger capacity and new engine the power output remained the same. This car was not very successfull, so only 522 coupes and 125 convertibles were sold.
